Cecilia - la vergine sposa.
On her wedding night, Cecilia confided to her husband Valerian that she had consecrated her life to God and persuaded him to be baptised. Cecilia survived unscathed the condemnation to be burnt at the stake for being a Christian. She also miraculously survived her subsequent beheading. Cecilia was taken by musicians as their patron saint because it is said that, before dying, she melted into a celestial song.
