In Israel, on the day after Kippur, the "day of forgiveness", huts made of branches and leaves can be seen springing up everywhere in gardens or on balconies. It is the feast of Sucot and the huts symbolise the shelters of the Jewish people when they crossed the desert after their liberation from Egypt. Yaniv, 12 years old, lives on a Kibbutz, and this year he decided to embark on a journey to discover the different traditions associated with Sucot. His steps lead him to a Yemeni family and an Ashkenazi family who help him to better understand this holiday. On the seventh and last day of Sucot, at the end of his journey, Yaniv goes to Jerusalem, the symbolic city, where, surrounded by all the communities, he celebrates this feast, the most joyful and the most engaging of the year.
