According to the iconography, on the gilded glasses found in the Roman catacombs we can find the first images of the concordia apostolorum where Peter and Paul exchange the kiss of peace that they managed to ensure in the council of Jerusalem in the year 48, although respectively being one the representative of the Church of the law (circumcised Jews) and the other the Church of Grace (uncircumcised pagans). In Antioch, however, there is the story in which Paul does not hesitate to face Peter before his antecedent. Peter was the first to be called by Jesus when he was still called Simeon while he was fishing on Lake Tiberias to fish with his brother Andrew. Paul, called Saul, was a proud and violent persecutor of Christians, before whom Stephen, the first Christian martyr, was stoned. Saul was converted around the year 31 or 32 in Damascus, following the blinding vision described by Luke. Peter and Paul both died martyrs under Nero between 64 and 67, Peter crucified upside down and Paul beheaded.
