Theotokos of the Unburnt Bush Icon, Russia, 19th century. Antique icon from Moscow (Russia, painted in the 19th century on a wood and levkas board of 31.5x26.5 cm, representing the Theotokos as the Burning Bush of the miracle witnessed by Moses in the Old Testament, where the bush represents the integrity and the virginity of Our Lady. The bush becomes then a symbol of the Holy Mary.
