Icon from Russia, hand painted following the Bizantine-Russian tradition, also using gold leaf. The icon portrays the Virgin tenderly leaning towards Jesus's face. This is a copy of the famous Our Lady of Vladimir icon from the XIV century, which is held as a national sacred symbol.
