Statues from Angela Tripi's atelier are distinguished by extremely careful workmanship and a powerful expressive force that conveys authentic emotions. Unlike the more common Nativity tradition, where the body is often built on a fabric structure with only the extremities in terracotta, these works feature a body entirely modelled in terracotta and subsequently dressed in fabric. What makes each creation truly special is its ability to communicate: through the gaze, facial expressions and posture the figures enter into a dialogue with one another and with the viewer. Each character is captured in a precise instant of life, suggesting a story that extends beyond the depicted scene.
Signed pieces from Angela Tripi's atelier are all different; every statue is unique and unrepeatable, the result of artisanal work that makes each Nativity Scene more authentic.
