Animated man with little girl, Neapolitan Nativity Scene, 12 cm

Beautiful! simply beautiful! It's hard to imagine how amazing this is! It is one of my favorite pieces because it meets my most important criteria for "the best displays". a.- The display is small. Understand that when I refer to small is not the size of the figure but the volume of the display as a whole. It's almost as if you were holding a Depose or Fontanini double person figure in your hand. b- Because of this, it's perfect for small installations or large ones. c- The action of the animation is fantastic and very unique and appropriate for the Nativity period. d- My favorite outline is the fact that you can lay it out in the installation as if he were walking in the middle of a "road". In this case; the casing where the motor is hidden won't make a difference because you can just place some animals around and on top of it and it will look and feel as they belong and the are amidst a crowd or travelling somewhere. e- The overall craftsmanship is balanced, extremely detailed, the painting of the features flawless, the clothing attire is sewn and then "brush sealed" with some sort of matte glaze that makes the clothes stay sturdy and the coloring stand out. There are no clothes flaking with this finish. All the most expensive pieces have this type of finish and in my opinion, it's the best, as the delicacy and craftsmanship can be appreciated even when a figure is in the middle of the installation or far away from eye view. f- The not so good part: It's one of the most expensive pieces I purchased. All I can say is that if I would have seen it in person this would have been the first figure I would have chosen to buy. It's that good. Far better than other displays that have much more detail. g- This figure will be good with 5,6, & 7 inches. I would include 8 inches; however it is an old bearded man (I received a younger version and both were dressed differently but the same overall idea), and since you don't know the features you will receive and old man of approximately 5 inches will look odd amongst 8" figures. Nevertheless if the features were those of a young man it will look well. If I could; I would give this figure a 10 star rating. It's simply extraordinary.
