Benino the sleeping shepherd for 8 cm Neapolitan Nativity Scene, terracotta.
One of the most significant figures of the Neapolitan Nativity, Benino, depicted sleeping, traditionally represents the character from whose dream the entire Nativity Scene is said to come to life.
Shown resting peacefully, he is an indispensable element in Nativity arrangements inspired by the Neapolitan tradition. The figurine is modelled in terracotta, dressed in fabric garments with a wool cloak, materials that add depth to the composition and highlight the careful attention to detail.
Made by Creazioni Paolo e Giulia, an Italian artisan workshop specialised in Nativity figurines, each piece is entirely handcrafted: modelling the terracotta, dressing and finishing the details follow the Neapolitan crib-making tradition.
Garment colours, patterns and finishes may vary slightly due to the artisanal production process, making each figurine unique.
Ideal for completing Nativity Scenes with 8 cm figures.
