Embracing Nativity for 12 cm Neapolitan Nativity Scene, terracotta.
This composition offers an intimate, family‑centred portrayal of the birth of Jesus: Mary and Joseph are seated, with Joseph embracing the Virgin while Mary holds the Infant Jesus wrapped in swaddling clothes, creating a scene that expresses protection, affection and closeness.
The figures are modelled in terracotta and entirely hand‑finished, while the fabric garments add movement and naturalness to the composition. Careful attention to detail enhances the expressiveness of the faces and the harmony of the group, underlining the artisanal character of the statuette.
Produced according to the Neapolitan Nativity tradition, the piece arises from manual workmanship that combines terracotta modelling with meticulous finishing of every detail, inspired by the ancient Neapolitan workshops. Variations in the fabrics used are a natural consequence of artisanal production and make each figure unique while preserving its essential characteristics.
Designed for Nativity Scenes with 12 cm figures, this statuette is ideal as the central Nativity Scene or to complete a crib arranged in the Neapolitan tradition.
