Moor with drum for 14-16 cm Neapolitan Nativity Scene, terracotta, dimensions 17x7x8 cm.
The figurine depicts a Moorish musician playing a drum, with face and limbs modelled in terracotta and garments made from fabric. The character's expression and dynamic pose bring vitality to the scene, recalling the musicians who enlivened popular festivals and traditional Neapolitan Nativity Scene performances.
Handmade in the historic workshops of Naples, this figure is born of a craft tradition passed down for centuries. The modelling of the terracotta, the dressing and the finishing of every detail are carried out with care by master Nativity artisans, custodians of an artistic heritage that has made the Neapolitan Nativity famous worldwide.
The limited availability of the fabrics used for the costumes makes each statuette unique. For this reason colours, patterns and small details of the clothing may vary slightly from the photographs, enhancing the value of the handcrafted production.
Ideal for Nativity Scenes with figures measuring 14-16 cm, this statuette blends perfectly with other musicians, shepherds and characters, helping to create an atmospheric setting faithful to the Neapolitan crèche tradition.
