Moorish cymbal player for 14-16 cm Neapolitan Nativity Scene. Dimensions: 17x6x5 cm.
The figurine represents a musician playing cymbals, wearing fabric garments while the face and limbs are modelled in terracotta. This character evokes the figures that animated popular festivities and everyday scenes, bringing movement and liveliness to the Nativity setting.
Handcrafted in the artisan workshops of Naples, the statuette is produced according to a long-standing tradition that makes the Neapolitan Nativity renowned worldwide. Every stage of workmanship, from modelling the terracotta to dressing the figure in fabric, is carried out with care by skilled craftsmen, preserving techniques passed down through generations.
The limited availability of the fabrics used means each figurine is unique; therefore colours, patterns and small details of the garments may differ slightly from the photographs, a sign of authentic handcrafted production.
Ideal for completing nativity scenes with 14-16 cm characters, this character pairs harmoniously with other musicians, shepherds and traditional Neapolitan Nativity Scenes.
