Neapolitan Nativity figurine, Sleeping man 8cm
Neapolitan nativity figurine of a sleeping man, suitable for a 8cm (3,15in) nativity scene.
The character is made in Naples, capital of the nativity scene tradition; the figurine is completely handmade, made of real terracotta, covered in molded cloth. The limited availability of the fabrics and the handmade craftsmanship result in a product that is always slightly different and therefore unique; a really valuable figurine for nativity scenes.

Thomas W.12/7/2025Das Motiv der schlafenden Figur finde ich immer gut. Leider ist es kein schlafender Josef. Überhaupt bin ich mir nicht sicher, ob die Figur nun ein Mann oder ein Kind ist. Die Größe würde auf ein Kind hinweisen, wenn die Figuren nicht die Beine angezogen hätte, so ist es leider nicht so eindeutig. TW
