Terracotta Moor playing the flute for a 14-16 cm Neapolitan Nativity Scene.
The statuette depicts a Moorish musician intent on playing the flute, with head and limbs in terracotta and garments made of fabric.
The natural pose and careful attention to detail make this figure ideal for bringing the Nativity to life, evoking the festive and everyday scenes typical of the Neapolitan tradition.
Handcrafted in Naples, this figurine is the result of the skill of Neapolitan Nativity makers, who for centuries have preserved and passed down techniques for modeling terracotta and dressing the figures. Each piece tells a tradition renowned for the richness of its characters and the meticulous care of its details.
The limited availability of the fabrics used for the clothing makes every statuette unique. For this reason, colours, patterns and small details of the garments may vary slightly from the photographs, enhancing the authenticity of the artisanal workmanship.
Perfect for completing Nativity Scenes with characters of 14-16 cm, this character pairs harmoniously with other musicians, shepherds and participants, contributing to a lively setting faithful to the Neapolitan Nativity tradition.
