This statue depicts a laundress engaged in her daily work gesture, with a spontaneous pose and a green dress reminiscent of nature's tones. The movement of hands immersed in water and the wood-textured basket reveal an extraordinary attention to detail. The sweet expression on her face, slightly inclined, pays homage to the humble and patient work that accompanies village life.

Like every creation signed by Dellarte Ceramiche, this figurine comes to life following the ancient technique of Faenza ceramic. The process begins with slip, liquid clay poured into plaster molds to achieve the desired shape. After careful finishing, the piece undergoes an initial firing at 1000°C, followed by hand-decoration with non-toxic glazes. The figurine is then immersed in a bath of crystal-clear glaze, enhancing its colours and providing a brilliant finish, and undergoes a second firing at 920°C. Finally, the 10% pure gold details are applied, completed with a third firing at 720°C.

Paola Zaghi, the atelier's founder, brings her cultural and artistic baggage to the project, matured over years of teaching Art History and Painting Design. The family-run company has been creating ceramic artworks for over twenty years that blend tradition, expressiveness, and artisanal wisdom.
