The shepherd with the lamb on his shoulders is a timeless figure from the traditional Nativity Scene, symbolising care, protection, and dedication. This Faenza ceramic figurine portrays a young shepherd with a serene gaze, carrying the lamb affectionately on his neck. The green attire and meticulously sculpted details create an authentic and delicate image, full of poetry.

Crafted using the Faenza ceramic technique, the figurine is born by pouring slip, liquid clay, into plaster molds. After drying and manual finishing, the piece undergoes an initial firing at 1000°C, preparing it for decoration. The colours, achieved with lead-free non-toxic glazes, are meticulously hand-applied. Subsequently, it is dipped in transparent glaze for brilliance and protection, followed by a second firing at 920°C. The golden details are then embellished with 10% pure gold, completed with a third firing at 720°C.

Signed by Dellarte Ceramiche, a family-run workshop active for over 20 years, founded by Paola Zaghi, an artist with extensive experience in teaching Art History and painting design. The brand combines aesthetic sensitivity and artisanal mastery to create Nativity Scenes rich in meaning, beauty, and tradition.
