This figurine depicts one of the Wise Men standing, solemnly presenting a golden casket, symbolising one of the three gifts offered to Baby Jesus. The petrol green cloak, embellished with refined 10% pure gold details, adds movement and nobility to the figure, entirely crafted from Faenza ceramic and meticulously hand-painted.
Each statue undergoes a meticulous process, starting with pouring liquid clay, slip, into plaster molds to shape it, followed by an initial firing at 1000°C. Subsequently, decoration with non-toxic glazes and immersion in clear glaze take place. After a second firing at 920°C, pure 10% gold is applied, requiring a final firing at 720°C.
This creation is signed by Dellarte Ceramiche, a family-run artisanal company with over 20 years of experience. Founded by Paola Zaghi, a former Art History and Painting Design professor, the company stands out for blending artistic knowledge with personal sensitivity. Each piece narrates a story of exploration, beauty, and devotion.
