This figurine depicts the Moor Magi bearing myrrh as a gift. Wrapped in a blue cloak adorned with 10% pure gold inserts, he wears a finely finished white tunic, exuding elegance that emphasises his royal role in the Nativity Scene.
Crafted entirely from Faenza ceramic, following a meticulous artisanal process. Starting from slip, liquid clay poured into plaster molds to achieve the shape, then refined and fired for the first time at 1000°C. The hand-decoration with non-toxic and vibrant glazes is set with a dip in clear glaze, a glassy finish that enhances depth and shine. This is followed by a second firing at 920°C, the application of 10% pure gold, and finally, a third firing at 720°C to expertly fix every detail.
This creation bears the signature of Dellarte Ceramiche, a family-run artisan workshop based in the province of Rovigo. Founded by Paola Zaghi, a teacher of Art History and Painting Design, the company was born from the desire to combine art and tradition. For over twenty years, its mission has been to create unique pieces that tell timeless stories and bring beauty into homes through artistic ceramic.
