Who is Light? The symbol pilgrim of the Jubilee

Light is a smiling young pilgrim, created to represent the spirit of the 2025 Jubilee - Pilgrims of Hope. Her appearance is inspired by the world of manga and anime, making her immediately recognizable and especially close to the younger ones. In addition to her yellow raincoat, she wears muddy boots, a symbol of a long and challenging journey, but lived with determination. She carries a rosary with a clearly visible cross and a pilgrim's staff, reminiscent of the spiritual journey that every believer takes in their life. Particularly suggestive are her bright eyes, which shine with the reflection of the shells of the Camino de Santiago, emblem of pilgrimage and hope. Her gaze conveys trust, joy, and warmth, fundamental values of the Jubilee.

Light & Friends: a special collection

Light is not alone! She is part of the Light & Friends collection, a group of characters that accompany the Jubilee with their message of hope and positivity. Along with her, there are: Fe – the symbol of unwavering faith; Xin – the friend who brings the message of hospitality and solidarity; Sky – the companion representing freedom and connection to the divine. This collection makes the Jubilee mascot even more special, turning it into a shared experience, capable of uniting pilgrims of all ages.

The meaning of Light in the 2025 Jubilee

Light was created with the goal of bringing younger generations closer to spirituality and the sense of pilgrimage. Her modern aesthetic, inspired by manga and pop culture, was chosen to speak directly to the youth, involving them in the universal message of the Jubilee. Her presence is not limited to Rome: Light will be present at major events like Lucca Comics & Games 2024, where she has already been a huge success, and will represent the Holy See at the Expo 2025 in Osaka, spreading the message of peace and hope worldwide. Light is not just a mascot: she is a true symbol of the journey of faith, an icon of hope, and a bridge between generations.
