The ciborium rests on a refined base crafted using lost-wax casting and then plated in 18kt gold. The cup, embellished with a rich decorative motif of leaves, bunches of grapes, and vine shoots, recalls the symbolism of the Eucharist. The entire ornament is crafted using precision casting and silver-plated. The artisanal care and attention to detail are evident in the red crystals applied individually to the bunches of grapes to represent the grapes, lending brightness and prestige to the overall effect. The decoration extends harmoniously to the lower part of the ciborium's lid, crafted from a turned sheet of metal and plated in gold, creating harmony and continuity with the lower part of the ciborium. Completing the composition is a rising cross, surrounded by leaves and bunches of grapes that further enhance its symbolic meaning.
The ciborium is entirely handmade by the artisans of the Umbrian workshop Pical Arte Creazioni, as evidenced by the artist's signature engraved on the bottom of the work.
