Slabbinck blue banner with cross and Advent candles, 120x40 in.
This liturgical banner accompanies the Advent season, creating a warm and contemplative atmosphere that fosters prayer, hope, and the anticipation of Christmas.
At the centre of the composition stands an Advent candlestick with four candles: three purple and one pink. Each candle represents one of the Sundays of Advent. The three purple candles symbolise the time of penance, vigilance, and preparation, while the pink candle, lit on the third Sunday, expresses the increasing joy as Christmas approaches.
Next to the candles is a cross, a symbol of faith and salvation in Christ, adorned with a blue standard, traditionally associated with Mary, the Mother of God. The Marian blue represents purity, loyalty, and tenderness, evoking Mary's role as a model of anticipation and reception, the one who cherished the promise in her heart and gave birth to the Saviour.
All togheter, these symbols guide the faithful on a spiritual journey of light, hope, and contemplation.
The new banner is digitally printed on fabric made of 100% artificial fibres, measuring 118.1x39.4 in.
Finished at the top with an open hem, it comes with a wooden pole, two decorative finials, and hanging rope, while the integrated metal bar at the bottom ensures the fabric remains taut and stable.
Crafted by the Slabbinck atelier, this banner reflects a liturgical excellence based on high-quality materials and meticulous craftsmanship rooted in the long textile and liturgical tradition of the Belgian maison.
