This beer has an intense dark brown colour. The nose is dominated by aromas of grass and liquorice, notes of chestnut, cashew nuts and honey with plum. The first sip has a strong malt body, characterised by coffee and roasted aromas. Local honey and an Alsatian yeast cause a bittersweet taste on the palate. Slightly bitter chocolate flavours accompany the warm finish of this strong Trappist beer. A vanilla aftertaste with hints of oregano brings the curiosity to perceive every nuance. The finish is long, slightly sour and dry.
The hops used to produce this beer come from the Mulh region.
