This 3.5x4.7 in reproduction belongs to the Linea Aurea collection by Bottega Tifernate and depicts the famous fresco "Renunciation of Possessions" by Giotto. Every work in the Linea Aurea collection is hand-made and finished by qualified painters with academic training.
The technique
The Linea Aurea collection by Bottega Tifernate is distinguished by high-quality artistic works produced through the patented pictography technique, devised by master Stefano Lazzari. This method creates reproductions that preserve the aesthetic qualities of an original painting. Years of dedicated research in painting and restoration have enabled the Città di Castello workshop to faithfully restore the methods and recipes used by Renaissance masters on fresco, panel and canvas. For the frescoes, the same pure lime used by Giotto is employed, free from salts and alkalis that could damage the work over time. The technique used is "a fresco" with gold leaf retouch, allowing the colours to fuse with the lime pigment during drying, ensuring durable and harmonious integration. The pigments are oxide-based, which helps maintain colour intensity over time.
The painting
The work represents one of the most significant episodes in the life of Saint Francis, in which the saint renounces his earthly goods before his father and the community of Assisi, placing himself fully under the protection of the Church. The scene is composed with careful balance between the figures and the architectural background, highlighting the symbolic value of the gesture of poverty and faith. The reproduction is accompanied by a certificate of provenance and is fitted with a hook on the back for wall display.
