God's plan is definitively implemented in Jesus Christ. He came among us to speak of the Kingdom of God, to perform works that are 'signs' of the presence of the Kingdom, to speak to us of the mercy of the Father, even to his death and resurrection, which are the culminating event of his life and the proof of his divinity. The Gospels were not written out of the blue, but were formed within the first Christian communities. Each Evangelist, drawing on this "source" and using their own knowledge, wrote the Gospel highlighting aspects and traits of the figure of Jesus. The Gospel was written because "we believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and because, believing, we have life in his name.
