Plot: Padre Pio is the story of an Italian priest who during the course of his life was the protagonist of a very long series of miracles, gaining an immense following of believers from the most diverse backgrounds. The film recounts his life, when the elderly priest is a tired and sick man, kept in the convent of San Giovanni Rotondo. One night, a mysterious man reaches him with the mission of discovering the truth about this strange priest, whom people still adore as a saint but who rejects authority, especially that of the church. The interrogation will be an opportunity to get to know, through a series of flashbacks, all the main moments in the life of this holy man, starting from when, as a child, he had his first mystical visions, to the meeting with the figures who will be important and fundamental for his education, up to the foundation of a hospital for the poor, which will be the crowning glory of his life but also the source of great suffering.
