According to tradition Julitta and her three-year-old son Cyricus had fled to Taurus and were brought before the governor Alexander. Submitted to long interrogations, Julitta refused to sacrifice to idols and confessed her faith. A legend says that Alexander was holding the child on his lap. Seeing his mother in distress, Cyricus declared he was a Christian too and was killed by being thrown on the ground. The mother was then decapitated. Cyricus is remembered as the youngest martyr in history.
