The sixteen Great Feasts are the Holy Trinity of the Old and New Testament, the Nativity of the Theotokos, the Presentation of the Theotokos at the Temple, the Annunciation, the Nativity of Jesus, the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple, the Baptism, the Joy of the Afflicted, the beheading of Saint John the Baptist, the Resurrection of Lazarus, the Palm Sunday, the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, the Transfiguration of Christ, the Ascension of Christ, and the Dormition of the Theotokos.
In the central part, the icon shows the descent into hell with Adam and Eve, the procession of the Blessed to Paradise, the resurrection of Christ, the appearance at the Lake Tiberias, and the four evangelists on the sides.
