Triptych cast in bronze with polychrome enamels in five tones, datable to the late 19th century. The work originates from the Moscow area, one of the most active centres for the production of enameled metal icons.
The central panel depicts Christ Pantocrator seated on a throne, holding an open book and a cruciform halo bearing the sacred letters "Ο ΩΝ". Flanking him are Archangels Michael and Gabriel, represented with richly worked tunics, a ceremonial staff and a Christological disk.
The polychrome enamel, applied in fields on a chased ground, displays the colours typical of Russian iconography — blue, green, white, yellow and black — each carrying symbolic meaning related to divine kingship, purity and heavenly protection.
Intended for private devotion, this triptych could be used as a wall icon or a small domestic altar; its compact size also made it suitable for travel.
