Assuage my Sorrow, ancient Russian icon of the 19th century, 12.6x11 inches. Ancient icon from Moscow, painted in the 19th century and covered with a gilded riza intricately decorated. The name of the icon comes from the 5th strophe of the Akathistos hymn. The icon represents the intimate sorrow of the Holy Virgin, who saw her only child die unjustyl on the Golgotha. Mary lived many years of sorrow, loneliness and neglet until she received consolation to her pain with the Dormition.

In the painting, the Mother of God is represented with her right hand on her sad and pensive temple, while Jesus is floating on her mantle, as if he was living in an incorporal dimension. The cartouche says "Judge righteous judgment, act with mercy and magnanimity".
The icon is delivered in a blue velvet and satin case with the expertise of a registered expert.
