Our Lady of Kazan, Russian painted icon, second half of the 19th c., 14x12.2 inches. Icon from Moscow painted with egg tempera on wood in the second half of the 19th century.
According to the legend, in 1579 the icon revealed itself in a girl's dream, showing her where to find the painting. After it was found, the cion was brought to a church in Kazan, where it became famous for the miracles connected to it.
Icon delivered in an elegant blue velvet box with expertise.
