The Mother of God of Smolensk, ancient Russian icon, 19th century, 14x11.7 inches. Ancient icon from Moscow, painted in the beginning of the 1800s, representing the Mother of God of Smolensk, belonging to the Hodegetria iconographic type. The Theotokos is depicted frontally with the head slightly bowed towards the Infant Jesus, sitting on his Mother left hand, while pointing at him with her right hand.
The icon is painted with egg tempera on a linden wood board and is delivered in an elegant case with the expertise of a registered expert.
