The icon of the Sixteen Great Feasts is a traditional sacred representation in Byzantine and Orthodox art depicting the main liturgical events and festivities of the ecclesiastical year. Detailed icon, it features in the centre the composition of Holy Easter surrounded by scenes of the Passion: the Last Supper, the washing of the feet, Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, the betrayal by Judas, Jesus on trial by Caiaphas, Jesus on trial by Pilate, the crowning with thorns, the flagellation, the Way of the Cross, the Crucifixion, the Descent from the Cross, and the Tomb.
