Russian icon of the Burning Bush painted on antique wood, XIX century, 30x25 cm . Modern Russian icon painted by hand with egg tempera in the XIX century on an antique wood board respecting the traditions of the old school of Central Russia.
This icon is named after the miracle witnessed by Moses in the Old Testament, but represented in a symbolic way: the Theotokos becomes the Burning Bush. Beside the Mother of God holding the Infant Jesus, we can recognise some Angels, the symbols of the Four Evangelists and four scenes narrating the miracle of the Burning Bush.
