Saint Nicholas Russian icon, antique restored board, 19th century 32x27 cm. Russian icon of Saint Nicholas of Myre, represented half length, with the Evangel in the left hand, blessing with the right. Between the book and the left hand a cloth is painted as traditional sign of respect for Holy items.
Above the Saint's shoulders, on a cloud, we find Jesus Christ handing the Evangel and the Virgin the omophorion, typical vestment of orthodox bishops.
