Emmaus Supper Romanian icon, painted on wood 24x18 cm.
Icon painted by hand according to the traditional techniques of Byzantine iconography, entirely made in Romania.
The scene depicted is the Supper in Emmaus. After the Resurrection, Jesus appeared to two of his disciples who were on their way to the town of Emmaus. They did not realize it was Jesus himself until He took the bread in His hands and broke it in front of them. In that very moment they knew it was Him.
