Hand-painted icon of the Risen Christ, oil on glass, Romania, gold, 15.7x 11.4 inches. Icon painted by hand in Romania with oil on glass with a particularly complex technique: the artist paints the subject backwards on glass with a mirror underneath to see the result.
The icon represents the Risen Christ in a Byzantine style with Jesus in the centre, surrounded by biblical characters.
