Icon of Mother of God of Kazan is one of the most beloved Marian icons in Russia. The first miraculous manifestation of this icon was in 1579, when after a fire that had destroyed Kazan, the Virgin appeared to a 10-year-old girl and revealed her wher the icon was hidden.
