Our Lady of Don painted icon 31x23 cm Romania. Hand painted icon made by a Romanian artist according to traditional iconographic technics on a plank of wood with canvas applied on it and covered by layers of plaster.
The icon, embellished by golden details, represents the Virgin with Child according to the Mother-of-God Donskaja painting, attributed to Theophane the Greek and known to had led the Russians to victory against the Tartars in 1380 and in 1591.
