Painted Russian icon Madonna of Prince Igor 13x10 cm.
The icon shows the mutual embrace between the Madonna and Baby Jesus.
According to legend, Prince Igor was first held prisoner in a monastery, became a monk and before his death prayed before this icon.
A hand-painted icon of the Byzantine-Russian school, made with the traditional iconographic techniques of gold leaf.
