The scene narrates the visit of three angels to Abraham and Sarah. These angels, though similar, slightly differ, representing the Father (on the left), the Son (in the centre) and the Holy Spirit (on the right). The three figures, sitting at the table, along with the scene behind them, create an octogonal scheme full of meaning. The oak on the background represents the eternal life, while the rock enclosing the scene refers to the principle of the universe.
The human figures are silhouetted against a precious gold leaf background with an antique finish using the "craquelé" technique.
