Virgin of Tenderness, painted Russian icon, 5.5x3.9 inches. Russian icon painted according to traditional iconographic techniques of the Orthodox art by Russian paintings.
The peculiarity of this icon is connected with a few symbols: the look of the Mother of God, which seems to go beyond the picture and looks directly at the observer; the scroll, symbols of the Scriptures; the loving attitude of the Infant Jesus, holding his Mother tight with both his arms.
