Virgin Mary statue with baby and sceptre in Valgardena wood 25cm, gothic style, multi-patinated finish.
The original of this statue is kept in the Cologne Cathedral (Rhineland) and it dates back to 1310, sculpted by an anonymous artist.
Multi-patinated finish of the statue: the finished sculpture is coated with a walnut colour patina, then some details are added in different tones.
This statue in maple wood is hand made by the Valgardena artisans, following the local artistic tradition.
