After the first firing at 1000°C, the item is hand-decorated using bright lead-free glazes. It is then immersed in transparent crystal and undergoes a second firing at 920°C to make the surface shiny and smooth. The final 10% 24-carat gold finish is set with a final firing at 720°C.
