This glazed ceramic Christmas ball stands out for its elegant and sinuous onion shape, adding movement to the decoration and capturing light from every angle. The surface features a classic Christmas theme: two lit red candles stand out among large red and white flowers, holly leaves, and red berries, all elements evoking tradition and the warm holiday atmosphere. Hand-applied golden outlines discreetly illuminate every detail with refinement.
The creation follows a traditional Italian artisanal process passed down through time. It starts with slip, a fluid clay mixture poured into specific plaster molds to achieve the onion shape. After drying, the ball undergoes the first firing at 1000°C.
The decoration is entirely hand-painted with glossy enamel, then immersed in a crystal clear bath to protect and enhance the underlying colours. Finally, a second firing at 920°C, crucial to set the tones.
The final touch is the application of 10% pure gold, used for the outlines and luminous details, requiring a final firing at 720°C to permanently and securely set.
Each ball is produced by a historic Italian company established since 1900, specialising in hand-painted Christmas ceramics. A unique decoration for those seeking a precious item, meticulously crafted in every detail.
