This elegant ceramic Christmas ornament stands out for its elongated shape that enhances the handcrafted decoration: pine branches, green holly leaves, and red berries painted on an icy blue backdrop, creating a fresh, light, and festive visual effect. Golden details accentuate the natural forms, making it luminous and harmonious.
The manufacturing follows a long-standing Italian artisanal tradition. The liquid clay, known as slip, is poured into gypsum molds to achieve the typical onion shape. After drying, the ball is fired at 1000°C to gain solidity.
The design is executed with lead-free glossy enamels, meticulously applied by hand. A transparent glaze is then added, ensuring a brilliant surface. A second firing at 920°C stabilises the colour and shape.
To complete the piece, hand-applied 10% pure gold details are fixed with a third and final firing at 720°C.
Each ball is entirely produced in Italy.
